Sixth Form Changes

Marling School and Stroud High School will operate separate sixth forms in the future as student numbers continue to expand.

Students applying to join Marling School in September 2018 will not be affected by the changes. They will continue to be part of a shared sixth form in years 12 and 13 and will have the same experience and facilities as our current sixth formers.

The changes will start in September 2019 when Marling Sixth Form will admit both boys and girls. Boys and girls currently in year 10 and below will therefore be able to enter a co-educational Marling Sixth Form. 50 new places have been added to allow a mixture of students to join.

More details will be unveiled in the coming months as decisions are made and plans are finalised.

2018/19 (No changes)

Students will be taught by Marling School and Stroud High School (SHS) as at present.

2019/20 (Transition year)

Marling Sixth Form will admit boys and girls into Y12. Teaching in Y12 will not be shared with SHS. The sixth form centre will continue to be shared.

Y13 Marling students will continue to share classes with SHS.

Marling Sixth Form will be co-educational and operate separately from Stroud High School. Some sharing of facilities and activities will continue.
