The Duke of Edinburgh's Award
The DofE programme at Marling School is a real adventure from the beginning to end. It doesn't matter who you are or where you are from, you just need to realise that there is more to life than sitting on a sofa watching life pass you by.
Levels
You can do programmes at three levels, which when completed, lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Sections
You achieve your award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections (five if you're Going for Gold) - Volunteering, Physical, Skills, Expedition and for a Gold, Residentual.
You'll find yourself helping people or the community, getting fitter, developing skills, going on expeditions and taking part in a residential activity (Gold only).
Our Expectations
The Bronze award is avaliable to students in Year 10 with expeditions taking place in the Mendip Hills and Forest of Dean.
The Silver award is avaliable to students in Year 11 with expeditions taking place in Exmoor and the Breacon Beacons.
The Gold award is avaliable to students in Year 12 with expeditions taking place in the Breacon Beacons and Snowdonia National Park.
The best bit is - you get to choose what you do!
Your programme can be full of activities and projects that get you buzzing, and along the way you'll pick up experiences, friends and talents that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
Details about our expeditions, dates and much more can be found in the ParentZone on MarVLE.
Marling School is Directly Licensed Centre for the provision of the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme in the South West.
