Marling School Library provides the resources and personnel that underpin the delivery of the school curriculum, the personal development and the leisure needs of both students and staff.  It is open and manned throughout the whole school day for students and staff to use.

The Library has a lending stock of approximately 9,000 books, which has to take into account the wide range of age and ability in the School and it also reflects cultural diversity and equal opportunities both within the School and the outside world.

The stock in the library has to be relevant to the curriculum, accurate, up-to-date and in good physical condition.  Literature and the enjoyment of reading are promoted by providing a wide range of imaginative material of all types.
The Library works closely with the teaching departments within Marling School and provides books for use in the classroom when necessary, support for students sent to work in the library from lessons, support for teachers in the classroom when appropriate and help with study skills with all students when necessary.

Students can use the Library freely at break and lunchtimes as a place to do homework, borrow books for leisure reading, look at newspapers and magazines and generally browse.
