The artistic talents of 43 A Level students from the joint Marling and Stroud High School Sixth Form were showcased at an exhibition held this month. The exhibition held for the second year was well attended by visitors, including students and parents of the school.

Art and Design is a popular A Level choice with half of students studying the subject going on to Art related courses at both further and higher education. A diverse range of materials, techniques and processes were used by this year’s students including animation, digital media, painting, textiles and sculpture. Students were encouraged to explore ideas and themes with personal direction supported by both departments from Marling and Stroud High School.

“We are delighted to see such creative and imaginative work, and are proud to have supported them through to a very successful exhibition.” Karen Whitehead, Head of Art, Stroud High School.

“Once again this exhibition showed such a high standard of wonderful and innovative work from our students, and we are very proud of them.” Carole Austin, Head of Art, Marling School.
