On Wednesday 10 July our Year 7 cricket team became U12 District Champions after their match against Kingshill School.
Marling School made a slow start with the opening batsmen going early in the innings. However, captain Jamie Bremner and Tom Wilson steadied the ship and got the team
underway, helped along by Arthur Mills and a match high score from Elliot Bonham. We finished with a score of 82.
All season we have shown that we are a bowling team and this was the time to prove it. Up stepped captain Jamie Bremner who took their opening batsman with the first ball of the innings caught by Arthur Mills. This standard of bowling continued and other wickets soon fell with Jamie taking
another 2, Tom Wilson taking 2, Arthur Mills taking 1 and to continue from his batting score Elliot Bonham took 3 wickets to seal his man of the match performance and get them all out for 37. As ever this was a team performance and there were great contributions from Oscar Gomez, Ryan
Griffiths, Julian Shirnia, Henry Crab Lahei, Jack Poulson, Louie Lovell, Max Hardwick and James Dobson. As a team we still have a lot to learn and I hope that we can build on the District Cup Victory.  Mr Andy Wilson
