Stroud Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering -FESTOMANE 2014:
Year 8 Food Technology students entered the dragons den to sell their new Frijj design idea on Monday 24 November 2014.
The Prince of Wales opened the event highlighting Stroud’s talent for designing and creation. Established in 2012 by the Stroud MP Neil Carmichael, The Stroud Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering, also known as FESTOMANE is in its third year.
The goal of FESTOMANE is to bring together young people and schools with businesses and opportunities. Local businesses, organisations collaborate with Neil Carmichael MP to create FESTOMANE each year.
The Prince met with the Marling students who have been working with Dairy Crest and taking part in the Frijj Technology Challenge in the run-up to FESTOMANE. He tasted their new flavour meringue and fruit design idea and was impressed with the standard of their display. In feedback received from the Frijj brand owner, this was the product that would have gone straight into production and be part of the current new range.
Enormous thanks To Becky Amor and Andy Crabtree of Dairy Crest.
