Nat Hatherley, 10E, enjoyed a great athletics season, competing for Gloucestershire Schools in two individual events, as well as a combined events competition.

Nat represented the Cotswold District at the County Schools competition in June, competing in both 80m hurdles and pole vault. He qualified in both events for the next stage in the competition, so representing Gloucestershire at the South West Schools competition in Exeter. Here he equipped himself well, achieving a PB of 12.05secs in the hurdles and vaulting 2.60m.

The following weekend saw Nat back in Exeter competing for Gloucestershire in the South West combined events competition. This Pentathlon required him to compete in 80m hurdles, shot put, long jump, high jump and 800m. After a long and gruelling day’s competition, a third place meant qualification for English Schools, which was held at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham on the 21st September. This was a particularly tough competition and unfortunately Nat finished down the field, but he could hold his head high after achieving yet another PB of 11.92secs in the hurdles. What a great way to finish to his season!

After a couple of weeks off, a hard winters training lies ahead in readiness for next season!
