Show me:
It was wonderful to welcome the Year 11 boys back to school today to receive their GCSE results and to celebrate their success.
All their hard work paid off and the boys opened their envelopes to find that more than three quarters of the grades are A*-B with a whopping 19% of grades at the very highest A* grade (nearly four times the national figure). 60 students individually achieved 5 or more A*-A grades and 78% achieved 8 or more A*-B grades. 97% of students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades including English and Maths.
They really are a fabulous set of results and I am delighted for the boys. With all the changes to GCSEs over the past few years our students continue to rise to the challenge; this year 78% of grades were A*-B and the boys have pushed the A* grades even higher to 19%. This was against the headlines of a reduction in A* grades nationally. I would like to thank our staff who have worked tirelessly to support the boys in and out of lessons; they will be thrilled with the boys’ success.
Well done to all!
Dr Stuart Wilson
