I was delighted to be voted in as the new Chair of Governors for Marling School at the recent Full Governors Meeting, and  I’m pleased that John Gilbert has agreed to be Vice Chair for this academic year. John has done a great job over the last 6 years leading the Governing body through very challenging times. This year is likely to see further change and challenge that I look forward to tackling. We also welcome new Parent Governor, Ian Mudge to the team.

During the last series of Governor meetings we have been discussing the future direction of the School with the aim of continuing to be financially sustainable, driving our educational standards ever upwards and most importantly helping our boys to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners who will make a positive contribution to the economy, society and environment.

We are always happy to receive your feedback about Marling School and will be in attendance at events throughout the year, so do feel free to speak to us, particularly if you are interested in becoming a Governor or have skills and experience that you feel might help us to take the School forward into a challenging future.

You can speak to any governor (all names are on the School’s website) or email me at
