Jack has broken a number of records this term! He has won the Gloucestershire Men’s County Amateur Golf Championship and is the youngest ever to have won this event in its 101 year history. Chris Wood, current European Tour Player and winner of Last year’s BMW PGA Championship, is also a former winner. Jack won three trophies at the event and broke the following records:

  • Winner of the Challenge Cup for the Gloucestershire Men’s Amateur Championship. Jack recorded a score of 14 under par for 72 holes of golf (at 17, he is the youngest ever winner in this men’s event) – he recorded 4 rounds under par (-6, -3, -4 and -1).
  • Winner of the Colts Cup for the best U22 performance over the first 36 holes.
  • Winner of the Peter Scott trophy for the best U18 performance over the first 36 holes.
  • Broke the course record at Cotswold Hills GC with a score of 66 (6 under par) in the first round.
  • All three trophies have never been won at the same tournament in its 101 year history.

As a result of Jacks win on Saturday 20 May, Jack will represent Gloucestershire in the England Golf County Champion of Champions in Sep 2017 at the EGU HQ at Woodhall Spa. He sadly can’t play for Gloucestershire during the prestigious South West week in June 2017 due to his exams so he has turned down this selection. He also turned down a selection to play for England in Germany at the end of May 2017. He has accepted a selection to play for England at the Irish Boys tournament in Castleroy, Limerick at the end of June this year.

Jack’s card is signed and will be held at Cotswold Hills golf club until such times as some-one beats his record round of 66 (6 under par) on Saturday 20 May 2017.
