On the last Wednesday of term we had House Charity Day. There were many opportunities for the students to get involved in events around the school. At break Greenstreet and Fuller hosted a cake sale which sold out within 10 minutes. During lunch 3 things were happening. Upstairs in West Block Mrs Drew was holding a bottle flipping competition and a paper aeroplane competition. The winner of the paper aeroplane competition was Jake O’Reilly and the winner of the bottle flipping contest is still to be decided after a draw between Will Lambert and Luca Wigley. Out on the field Mr Elson had put his gloves on and got in goal to give the students the chance to win house points. Students and other staff gathered around to watch and take turns to beat Mr Elson. The nonstop flow of students raised a reasonable amount for the house charities. Whilst all of this was going on the students also took part in a scavenger hunt around the school filling a quiz sheet to win even more house points every entry has added up making over £600.  A Year 8 student commented “It was good fun and I’m glad the money we are raising is going to good causes.” Overall this terms House Charity Day was a success, we raised money for good causes and the students enjoyed themselves.
