A record 81 students embarked on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition last Sunday 11th June. The expedition lasted for two days and saw the boys successfully navigate over 20 miles in the area surrounding Sharpness & Vale of Berkeley. I was extremely proud of the way the boys conducted themselves and demonstrated great resolve & maturity. I was delighted to be told by several members of the public ‘how polite our boys were’. Some walkers really appreciated them being shown on a map exactly where they were! Thank you Dan O’Neill and the rest of the group.

This was by far our most successful bronze practice to date and given the large numbers, that is a significant achievement. I’m looking forward to seeing them take on the qualifying expedition in the North Wessex downs this autumn and a large number have already expressed a wish to do Silver DofE in Year 10.  Well done chaps.
