The weather could not dampen the enthusiasm for the recent KS3 production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Planned as the first production to be staged on our new ‘Amphitheatre’ area, the weather on the first night, unfortunately, got the better of us and cast and audience moved instead to the Music Hall. The following evening was gloriously warm and the audience enjoyed refreshments and surroundings before settling to enjoy outdoor Shakespeare at its finest.

It was a truly Shakespearean style production with boys taking the female roles with energy, colourful costumes and make up, original music written by the director and a memorable setting. The cast and choir were amazing. It was noted by an appreciative audience on both nights that lines were so well remembered and acting was so expressive.

Everyone involved in the production, both on stage, back stage and audience, had a very enjoyable time and it went like a dream…you could say A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
