28 Year 11 boys completed their 3 day qualifying expedition on Exmoor from Friday 13th to Sunday 15 October. Whilst the terrain was arguably less arduous than their practice in the Brecon Beacons last summer, the shorter hours of daylight presented its own challenges as the boys needed to get up in the dark to ensure they could complete their trek each day. The weather was warm but gusty as we felt the fringes of Hurricane Ophelia but we still benefited from some lovely views of the Moors and Southern Wales. We also cracked a mention on Radio 5 live when we texted in at 6.05am on the last day; shame they pronounced Stroud as Stroode but Marling came out right. We’re pleased to hear that a good number of the boys are planning on working towards their Gold award too.  Well done boys.
