The highlight of this term’s Cross Country events was the excellent performance of the Year 8 team at the ultra-competitive ESAA Regional Finals, held at Newport, Shropshire. The team may not have any individual superstars but they more than make up for it with excellent team ethic and total commitment. Running as a pack, the first Marlingtonian home was George Hall in 18th place. He was followed in soon after by Dan Barnard (his strongest run of the season so far) Alex Laddle, Sam Alcott and the rapidly improving, Joe Halliwell. The team just missed out on qualification for the national finals but were credit to the Marling vest.

The following boys were selected to represent the Stroud & Cotswold District at the Gloucestershire Schools championships:

Minors – Felix Kooksby, Theo Cartwright, Ollie Sykes

Juniors – Archie Sheffield, Jim Gandy, George Hall

Intermediates -Ben McIntyre, David Bendle,Tom Coates, Gabriel Poulson

Seniors – Noah Lambert, Jerome Boyd

As a result of their performances at the County Championships held at Newent, the following were selected to run for Gloucestershire at the South West Championships,
