It was a joy and a privilege to celebrate with our sixth form students as they opened their A Level results today.

This was our biggest ever cohort of sixth form students and the first to sit the reformed linear A Levels in almost every subject. However, the students rose to the challenge and did brilliantly, and I am delighted for them and for the staff who have worked so hard to support them.

A high proportion of exams were at the highest A*-B grades. 14% of exams were A* grade, 33% were A*-A grades and 64% were A*-B grades (the pass rate was 99%).

Within such a great set of results, individual successes were widespread. 8 students achieved 3 or more A* grade passes, 21 students achieved 3 or more A*-A grades and 59 students achieved 3 or more A*-B grades.

A large number of boys exceeded their predicted grades with 35 of them achieving one or more A* grades and half of the cohort achieving one or more A*-A grades. 

Most have matched or exceeded their offers from universities including many of the highly selective universities requiring A* grades such as Cambridge, Bristol, Edinburgh, and University College London. Other boys are progressing to higher apprenticeships or foundation courses.

On behalf of the governors and staff I would like to congratulate the boys and wish them all the very best as they go on to the next step in their journeys.
