On Wednesday 11 December, an enthusiastic number of sixth form students attended the Marling Medical Society meeting where they undertook an eye dissection.

Despite the difficulties in initially removing excess fatty tissue and piercing the sclera, everyone managed to gain access to the eye and extract the lens and the iris.

Accompanied by expert tuition from the Year 13 medics and detailed diagrams on the whiteboard, the session was both engaging and informative. Everyone enjoyed the session and learned a great deal from the experience but there was unanimous agreement that the heart was easier to dissect!
